Although Canadians don't celebrate Black Friday, we can't help but be bombarded by American holidays - or campaigns. ADBUSTER's call for a Wildcat General Strike as part of the "Buy Nothing Day" campaign is an interesting, poignant, and extremely relevant moratorium considering the current financial state of the world as well as GEN X,Y & Z's general attitude towards consumption. Working for an advertising agency I face somewhat of a moral conundrum yet I'm inspired by the fundamental ideas of this "grassroots", movement and recognize that as consumers activists we have to change the way in which we "consume".
